Support Your Local Law Enforcement Campaign

Posted on Jul 20, 2020

On July 20, 2020, Green Bay Fraternal Order of Police launched a billboard campaign in Green Bay with a simple message, “Support Your Local Law Enforcement”. This has been a slogan our lodge has used for years, but given the recent events in our country, it has never been more important.

We have always felt fortunate to serve in Northeast Wisconsin, where the vast majority of people are honest, hard working, law abiding citizens that support law enforcement and work with us to solve problems that arise in their communities. The best police department in the country would be ineffective without engaged citizens who work WITH their local law enforcement to keep their communities safe.

The media recently has given a lot of attention to police use of force incidents across the country where they imply that the actions of one or a few officers means that all officers throughout the country are racist, sadistic, or just bad people. The truth is that law enforcement officers in our community, throughout Wisconsin, and across the country consistently uphold their oath to protect and serve with professionalism, respect, integrity, and dedication.

We are part of the community we serve. We are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, husbands, wives, neighbors, and friends. We do a tough job with an ever increasing list of responsibilities and demands. We have to make split second decisions that the public, media, and court system will have years to debate and critique. We are not perfect and we make mistakes, but trust that every man and women that puts on a uniform is doing so because they care about the community that they serve and want to make the world a better place.

We will continue to answer the call, and be there for you when you need us. We will continue to work with you to keep our communities safe. We thank you for your continued support.
